DH has finally started seeing a neurologist that seems to CARE. Wow, what a difference that makes. He saw her on Tuesday - and has had 3 tests since, PLUS she finally prescribed him something for the pain and for his muscle problems. We both really like her and feel that she is going to do whatever she can to get to the bottom of this. We just hope its soon so he can get some help. I just wish that the test results were coming back better. So far, all three results have been bad results:(

But the reason for his title is actually N. We were out and about the other day and there was a stranger that I glanced at and thought, huh, he looks a bit like Hugh Laurie. Well, N looked at him and told me - look mom, there's Dr. House:) You know your 5 year old watches too much prime time TV when she recognizes Dr. House.

B is as happy as always (unless she sees the camera, still). She is still the sweetest little baby I've ever seen!

I got another job and I start Monday. It's not in my line of work, I have no experience, and I have to work 46 hours to make what I was making working 28 because of paying for insurance:( But it's a job and I'm gonna keep looking. I'm just grateful this has benefits and a 401K.

For Memorial day, N, B & I went to Kingwood Center. N LOVES it there. And its not only beautiful, it's free! (except to feed the ducks which is only a quarter:) You will sometimes catch a glimpse of a peacock - usually off the beaten path, and always with it's tail feathers down. But yesterday, both males and the female were wandering among the people - tail feathers up frequently. We not only got to hear the two males warning each other to keep their distance, but we also got to witness the mail doing his little mating ritual. A little dancing around, it's back feathers rubbing against it's large feathers to make 'attractive' sounds. That was all well and good until the male pounced on the female! LOL N turned to me and was not happy at how mean the male was 'tackling her like that'. Luckily we either watch enough National Geographic and Animal Planet or there may have been many more questions:)

There's No Such Thing As Job Security

Evidentally the stapler thing didn't pan out after all. After being at my current job for 12 years, I was downsized yesterday. Completely out of the blue. I'm beyond stunned by all of it. Bottom line, our business had been suffering with premiums on the rise and many people going elsewhere because of it. I was looking for something better paying anyway - now I just need to look harder.

When I called my Dad, he said 'I thought you were in there pretty solid' - well Dad, so did I. There is no such thing as job security - loyalty to an employer evidentally means very little. I've always been a very good employee - working overtime with no pay whenever asked - working extra to cover for people whenever asked - in 12 years I'd never taken my entire vacation days off ever - I've always done my work and then some - I trained EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE he has left - most people I know told me that I always got walked all over there, but I liked my job. I liked my co-workers. My boss was very flexible if I did need time off for any reason for the girls.

My last day was yesterday - I go Sunday to clean out my office. It feels weird. I grew up there. I've worked there since I was 18. My office feels so much like 'home' to me. I'm really gonna miss it.

Are We Sure They're Related?

Everyone knows N's love of the camera. I think most people have seen more pics of her than they probably take of their own kids. I'm picture crazy and she's always more than happy to oblige. Actually, most of the photos I have of she and B together are HER idea. She'll get the camera for me and ask me to take them:) From the moment she could smile - she loved the camera! And then there's B. She's the most smiley baby I've EVER seen in my life. She smiles SO easily and SO often. UNTIL she notices a camera! The minute she notices the camera, she will get straight faced and often times even scowl. She always looks like she's trying to figure out how it works or something. Sure, I have pictures of her smiling, but I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that for every ONE that I have, I probably took 20 trying to get it! I'm beginning to wonder if they are even related! LOL I keep trying to remind myself, she's only 11 weeks old. She will have the camera in her face often enough that she will have no choice but to get used to it:)

Are you kidding me? B was born 10 weeks ago. I'm still nursing and pumping. B probably gets 3 bottles (4oz) of formula PER WEEK. I just STOPPED bleeding 2 weeks ago. And you have the audacity to return? You gave me until N was 6 mos old, I couldn't even get half that this time?

AF - GO AWAY! I hate you (until of course thos months when you scare the crap out of me and stay away a day too long). I guess we have a love/hate relationship. But for now - LEAVE ME ALONE!

Gilmore Girls and a Quote

I heard today that 'The Gilmore Girls' show is coming to an end. Only 2 more new episodes. I'm sad to see it go - N & I love to watch the show together. I only found it on reruns 2 years ago, but whenever Lorelei tells Rory that she's her best friend, N has always said - 'That's like us Mama, we're best friends'. I guess we'll just have to keep watching reruns!

Job Security

My 87 year old (I think) boss asked me today to fill all of his staplers with staples. Evidentally while I was on maternity leave, he didn't know who to ask fill his staplers - so he just kept stealing filled ones off of other people's desks. No one could figure out what was happening with theirs and they had to order new ones for themselves.

Talk about job security! LOL

B is happiest in the mornings. With a full belly, a clean diaper and when she's getting dressed for the day. I'm so happy that I still get to see her beautiful little smiling face to start my day. DH said that after I left yesterday she didn't smile once - until I got home that is:) All evening she was smiling and cooing at me, which is normally very rare for her to do in evenings. I guess she was just saving it all up to make Mommy's Day! Boy did it!

And N decided to help and 'do dishes' while I was was at work yesterday. It made quite a mess but DH said she was so proud of herself and wanted to 'surprise me' by having them done, he didn't have to heart to stop her.

My two sweeties - what would I do without them?

I was warned. Everyone told me that N would seem SO MUCH OLDER when B arrived. I thought 'of course!', but I had no idea how much older she would seem. DH & I were watching a video of N at her Christmas program in December - even then she seemed so much younger than she does now! All of a sudden, instead of wanting to watch cartoons (except cartoon movies) - she asks to watch one of 4 shows "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody", "Hannah Montana", "That's So Raven" or "Drake and Josh". She's only 5 - shouldn't she still be into cartoons yet? Her favorite song happens to be "Girlfriend" by Avril Levigne (I'm sure that's spelled wrong but it's late and I have to work tomorrow so I don't feel like looking it up.) She constantly wants to watch the video on YouTube. She also has a favorite radio station and loves to listen to it while she's taking a bath - it's a Top 40 station. The poses and faces she makes at us - I keep thinking those should be waiting a few more years at least! The girl is also obsessed with cell phones - in spite of or maybe because of the fact we don't have one. My SIL gave her one of her old ones to play with. She's had it since December and played with it alot. Sunday she was pretending to talk on it - and all of a sudden I heard a voice coming from it! SOMEHOW this phone that hasn't been activated in a few years, and hasn't been plugged in since we've had it - and I'm sure not since the service was transferred to a new phone, was WORKING. Two battery bars and a recording on the other end. I mean, I'm sure there was no service - but the power baffled me so I asked N how she got it working. She looked at me like I was an idiot, shurgged and as if this is how you power up anything, simply said "I jammed a screwdriver in it".

I should add a note on B. She had her two month checkup today. She's 10lbs 12ozs and 22" long. Dr. said she's perfect.

A quick note to those of you who have moved to blogspot. I AM reading the blogs and looking at the photos (and loving them:), but for whatever reason, I haven't been able to post comments on those anymore. I used to be able to - and now it will always bring me to a blank white page. So I just wanted you all to know I'm not just ignoring them:)

Deadliest Catch: I couldn't believe how shook up Captain Johnathan Hillstrand of the Time Bandit was shook up when they pulled that guy out of the water. He was shaking, and it didn't even seem that he knew the guy personally. They were Heroes!

American Idol: Loved Blake's version of 'Imagine'. IMHO - it's time for Chris to go home!!!

Dancing with the Stars: OK. I will now admit it. I have a complete crush on Joey Fatone. Can't help it. Am I the only one???

Celebrity Fit Club: Does anyone else watch? That show is always such a train wreck that I can't bear to miss an episode! Dustin Diamond looks like he's gonna be a complete jackass! After hearing about his nasty video - I can't stand to look at him - ICK! I don't watch the Tonight Show - but Ross seems really funny!!! Maureen McCormick sounds totally humble. Watching her and her daughter school shopping on E! years ago was one of the things that inspired N's name. It should be an interesting season!
